Pastoral Care Religious Education

As an Ignatian school, we aim at encouraging students to embrace God’s words on love and justice and at nurturing them to grow into persons for and with others, who put Christian values into practice by serving others, especially the poor and the marginalized, to build a just and compassionate society. Our curriculum focuses on nurturing students to be reflective and discerning through understanding the wisdom of the Scriptures. We provide a variety of religious formation activities which aim at fostering spiritual growth for all students and building the faith of Catholic students. At MSS, we begin each school day with a morning prayer. We also celebrate mass on special occasions such as the start of school, Chinese New Year, Graduation, Christmas; and regularly such as the Catholic Family Mass (with Marymount Primary School), monthly Friday morning masses. We also organise Catholic Students Confession and many other activities. Besides, we have an elected Catholic student leadership group – the Religious Activity Convenors (RAC) – which organises different religious events and activities in the school to praise, revere and serve God. Seven religious groups have regular meetings and activities to help members get closer to God and integrate their faith into their daily lives. Confirmation classes are held every year to prepare Catholic students to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
