House Girls School Visit to MSS

Students
from Moira House, Girls UK Boarding School in Sussex, visited MSS on
27th October 2009. Accompanied by an ensemble of six, they did an excellent
performance on excerpts from By Jeeves, a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber
and Alan Ayckbourn based on the novels of P.G. Wodehouse.

| Those of us who had music class during the time of their visit had the opportunity to watch them perform in the Music Room. All the actresses were very much into their characters. With simple props and rich expressions, they led the audience into a world of adventure and imagination. In exchange, the main cast of the 2009 Fund-raising Production The King and I sang three songs from the musical, “The Lord and Master”, “Hello Young Lovers” and a love duet “I have dreamed”. Video clips of our musical were also shown. | |
| After the performances, the main cast of The King and I, the officers of the Student Council and the Music Committee talked and exchanged views with the Moira House girls about school life and drama. They have made friends with one another and exchanged email addresses in no time at all. Though their stay was short, students from both schools have benefited from the visit. |
