This year, the House of Debate has merged the Inter-house Debating Competition with the Inter-school Friendly Debate against St. Joseph's College. It was organized on 18th April 2008 during the ECA Period in the Hall.

The team from Marymount consisted of debaters from all four houses---Fiona So F.6B(Venus), Angel Yuen F.6B(Uranus), Saloni Jain F.4A(Jupiter), and Caroline Woo F.4D(Mercury). The motion was "Men are more capable of taking up managerial posts."

The winning team of the debate was the team from Marymount Secondary School, and the Best Speaker was Saloni Jain F.4A.

The audience showed great interest in the debate and departed the Hall in high spirits.
